1094 AuthoritativeTransmittalInd Error and Solution

ez1095 software makes it easy to file ACA forms to IRS. Please follow this guide if you encounter:

If Form 1094C checkbox 'AuthoritativeTransmittalInd' is not checked, then the 'MinEssentialCvrOffrCd' (within JanALEMonthlyInfoGrp through DecALEMonthlyInfoGrp) must not have a choice of "Yes" or "No" indicated.

or

If Form 1094C checkbox 'AuthoritativeTransmittalInd' is not checked, then 'TotalEmployeeCnt' must be zero or not have a value.

or

If Form 1094C checkbox 'AuthoritativeTransmittalInd' is checked and all of the 'TotalEmployeeCnt' (in 'JanALEMonthlyInfoGrp' through 'DecALEMonthlyInfoGrp') are either zero or has no value, then 'TotalEmployeeCnt' in 'YearlyALEMemberDetail' must have a value greater than zero.

Reason:

You did not fill in Part II and Part III on Form 1094 correctly.

Solution 1: For 1095-C correction

When you file 1095C correction, you only need to complete Form 1094-C through the element "Form1095CAttachedCnt" (Line 18). Leave all fields after line 18 blank or unchecked.



Solution 2: For other submission

Please follow the IRS guide to complete Part II, III and IV.

If this Form 1094-C transmittal is the Authoritative Transmittal that reports aggregate employer-level data for the ALE Member, check the box on line 19 and complete Parts II, III, and IV, to the extent applicable. Otherwise, complete the signature portion of Form 1094-C and leave the remainder of Parts II, III, and IV blank.
