QuickBooks Troubleshooting: Wrong Check Date

For example: When printing a QuickBooks check intended for '7/21/2024', the date appears as "1/21/2024" on the check.

This date field printing error can occur for several reasons. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue. If you need further assistance, please follow the last step and send us the data file "qbfile0001.txt".

Blank stock check printing: two-step solution

Solution:

Print this QuickBooks check with a real printer (not QB virtual printer) on white paper and review the date field. If you see the wrong date here, please edit it from QuickBooks. Otherwise, follow steps below.

Step 1: Update ezCheckPrinting and Virtual Printer (*****)

Recent QuickBooks format changes may cause this issue. Updating to the latest version of ezCheckPrinting and the virtual printer can resolve most date-related errors.

Step 2: Adjust Font Type for the Date Field. (***)

Poor data quality may also cause this issue. Using a stronger font type for the date field can help.

- Start QuickBooks, go to "File", then select "Printer Setup".

- In the "Form Name" dropdown, select "Check/Paycheck".

- Click on the "Fonts" tab and change the font for the Date field.
For example: change the font style from "Arial" to "Times New Roman" and make it bold.

- Click OK to save your new font selections.

Step 3: Adjust Printer Settings.(**)

Your printer may be in ink-saving mode, resulting in poor quality check data being transferred to the virtual printer.

- Click on QuickBooks top menu "Help"> "Printer Setup".

- Select "Check/Paycheck"

- Click "options" to edit printing options.

- Select the higher printing quality to ensure better data transfer.
